Lokesh Baweja

Posdoctoral Scholar

Illinois Institute of Technology

Lokesh Baweja is a Postdoctoral Researcher in Wereszczynski Lab at Illinois Tech. He received his Ph.D. from the Academy of Innovative and Scientific Research, India. He worked on modeling of graphene-based nanomaterials and their interactions with biomolecules using molecular dynamics simulations. He then received a prestigious grant from the Department of Science and Technology to work in the area of amyloid fibrillation, which was followed by joining the Roche group at Iowa State University, Ames, USA to develop structure-based models for studying protein folding and amyloid fibrillation. His current research includes the modification and development of coarse-grain force fields for nucleic-acid protein interactions and all-atom simulation of biological complexes. He is highly interested in structural bioinformatics, and the application of machine learning in genomics and proteomics.
